Edrath Online Terms of Service
Version 2026-10-04.1, in force from 2026-10-04
You must be at least 16 years old. If you are a legal minor where you live, you must review these terms with your parent or legal guardian and have their permission before creating an account or playing.
The privacy and storage notice for this version is on its own page.
1. Scope of this agreement
Edrath Online is operated by MistByte AB, a Swedish company with organisation number 559425-7734 and public business address Tornavägen 3, 241 33 Eslöv, Sweden. Your agreement is with MistByte AB; we, us, our and the operator refer to that company. Our website is https://mistbyte.se. Contact support@mistbyte.se for support, privacy requests, legal or content notices, and appeals, including if you cannot sign in.
These Terms of Service govern access to Edrath Online, its game website, accounts, gameplay, and communication features. Read the full agreement before registering. Selecting the acceptance checkbox confirms that you meet the eligibility requirements and agree to the identified version. The version and acceptance time are recorded with your account.
The rules cover conduct through the service, including usernames, character and guild names, tags, public chat, direct messages, party and guild communications, mail, and reports. Attempts to arrange a prohibited transaction or abuse outside the game still violate these terms when they involve Edrath accounts, players, resources, or progression. We do not control independent websites or promise to moderate the entire internet.
The sections below should be read together. For example, a trade allowed by the game's mechanics may still violate the rules on real-money trading or scams. A message reaching its recipient does not mean its content is allowed. Mandatory consumer, privacy, and other legal rights take precedence over any conflicting wording in this agreement.
2. Minimum age and parent or guardian permission
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or play Edrath. A parent or guardian cannot waive this minimum, create an account for a younger child, or let a younger child play through their account. If a higher minimum age or other eligibility restriction applies where you live, you must also meet that requirement.
If you are 16 or older but are still a legal minor where you live, you must review these terms with your parent or legal guardian and obtain their permission before registering or playing. Ask them to help you understand account security, interactions with other players, and any purchase you wish to make. Their permission to play does not automatically authorize purchases or disclosure of personal information.
Do not falsely state your age, falsely claim guardian permission, or help someone evade an age restriction. Your signup confirmation is a declaration of eligibility; it does not mean Edrath has verified your date of birth or your guardian's identity. Guardian supervision does not authorize account selling, sharing gameplay credentials with other players, or paid account piloting.
We may restrict access while reviewing a credible concern that an account does not meet these requirements. Report eligibility or child-safety concerns privately using the reporting tools available to you. Do not post birth certificates, identity documents, a child's age, or other sensitive evidence in chat or public reports. Any necessary follow-up must use an appropriate private channel and comply with applicable law.
3. Accounts, credentials, and security
Provide an accurate email address that you control, complete required verification, and keep that mailbox accessible for recovery and service notices. Use a pseudonym for your public game identity rather than publishing your real name. Give accurate information when the service legitimately requests it; do not impersonate another person or use someone else's email without authorization.
Keep your password, access tokens, verification links, and password-reset links private. Use a strong password that you do not reuse elsewhere, secure your email account and device, and sign out on shared devices. Staff will not need you to send your password or account tokens in chat. Enter credentials only in the genuine sign-in or account-management flow.
Do not buy, sell, rent, lend, transfer, share, or broker accounts or credentials. Do not allow another player to log in or play for you, even if no payment changes hands. You are responsible for your own conduct and for taking reasonable steps to secure the account; this does not remove any rights you have if the service itself has a security failure.
If you suspect compromise, use the password-reset and account-security options promptly and report the incident when you can. Be wary of offers of free items, staff status, account verification, or technical help that require an unfamiliar link, software download, payment, or login details. Do not use another account or recruit another person to evade a restriction.
4. Usernames, character names, and guild names
Choose names and guild tags suitable for a shared community. Do not use hate speech, discriminatory slurs, threats, targeted insults, sexually explicit wording, praise of sexual exploitation, or references intended to harass a person or group. Do not use another person's personal information or an advertisement for prohibited goods or services as a name.
Do not impersonate Edrath staff, support, another player, an organization, or a rights holder. Deceptive lookalikes, misleading titles, fake endorsements, and names designed to trick people into sharing credentials or sending payments are prohibited. Respect copyright, trademark, and other applicable rights.
These rules apply to every player-authored identifier, including altered spelling, spacing, symbols, abbreviations, and coded references. Passing an automated format check or obtaining an unused name is not approval of its meaning. We may require a rename, replace a violating identifier, or restrict access for serious or repeated misuse; do not recreate the same prohibited name in a disguised form.
5. Sharing personal information and protecting your privacy
Do not post or send sensitive personal information about yourself or anyone else through player-facing features. This includes home or precise live locations, private contact details, school or workplace schedules, identity documents, financial or payment information, passwords, access tokens, and private verification or recovery links. Registration and legitimate private account-support processes are different from sharing information with players; provide only what the genuine process needs.
Do not publish, request, collect, buy, sell, threaten to disclose, or help others discover another person's private information. Doxxing, stalking, exposing someone's identity behind a pseudonym, or combining scattered details to locate or intimidate them is prohibited. A person having posted something elsewhere does not make targeted exposure or harassment acceptable.
Do not pressure players to reveal their real name, address, phone number, age, contact accounts, photos, intimate material, or other identifying details. Be especially careful with minors: do not ask them for private contact or location information, encourage secrecy from their guardian, or pressure them to move conversations off-platform or meet in person. You never owe another player personal information as a condition of guild membership, help, rewards, or continued friendship.
Screenshots, copied messages, recordings, links, and uploaded evidence can expose information as easily as typed text. Remove unrelated personal details before sharing them. Do not redistribute leaked data, private images, or sensitive conversations to shame someone, spread abuse, or recruit harassment. The same rules apply to indirect links and to asking someone else to publish the material for you.
Public character pages can expose game information such as character names, portraits, guild affiliation, equipment, skills, and builds. Other social features can show in-game presence or location. Keep these public identities separate from sensitive real-world details. Direct messages, guild chat, and in-game mail are not a promise of confidentiality or end-to-end encryption: recipients can copy them and the service may store them. Use private reporting tools for necessary evidence, never public chat, and do not include passwords or identity documents in a report.
6. Respectful conduct and protection from abuse
Do not harass, threaten, stalk, blackmail, extort, discriminate against, or deliberately intimidate anyone. This includes hateful attacks based on personal characteristics, repeated unwanted contact, sexual harassment, threats of violence, and coordinated abuse. Disagreement, competition, or roleplay does not excuse targeting a player outside the ordinary rules of the game.
Do not create, request, share, or link sexual content involving minors, grooming material, intimate images shared without consent, or content promoting sexual exploitation or abuse. Do not sexualize interactions with minors or offer game rewards, money, access, or favors in return for private or sexual material. Claims that something is a joke, fictional roleplay, or shared in a private message do not create an exception.
Do not use player communications, profiles, or links to distribute pornography, sexually explicit material, or graphic real-world injury or violence. Edrath's fantasy combat does not authorize shock content or sexual solicitation. This restriction includes adult material even when every participant claims to consent; this is a shared game available to eligible minors.
Do not scam players, impersonate staff, distribute malware or phishing links, flood chat, spam unsolicited advertisements, or organize disruptive campaigns. Respect a request to stop unwanted contact. Ordinary competition and supported game tactics remain allowed; exploiting communication or social systems to repeatedly target someone is not ordinary competition.
Use the in-game reporting tools when you encounter abuse. Do not retaliate, repost harmful material publicly, or organize a campaign against the person you suspect. If there is an immediate real-world danger, seek help from the appropriate emergency service or a trusted adult; an in-game report is not an emergency-response service and does not guarantee an immediate reply.
7. Fair play, automation, and security testing
The server determines valid actions, progression, rewards, inventory, and trades. Do not use modified clients, forged requests, unauthorized scripts or bots, duplicated resources, or manipulated timing to gain an advantage or bypass a restriction. Do not interfere with another account, disrupt service availability, bypass access controls, or extract information you are not authorized to access.
Edrath's own idle progression, auto-cast, and other built-in automation are permitted. A feature being convenient or technically possible does not authorize an external tool to play for you, farm resources, coordinate abusive account activity, or evade detection. Ordinary accessibility tools that help you interact with the supported interface are not prohibited merely because they are assistive; they must not independently automate gameplay or bypass game rules.
Do not arrange win trading, match fixing, ranking manipulation, reward laundering, or intentional losses for prohibited benefits. Do not use alternate accounts, cooperative groups, trade intermediaries, or guild systems to do something these terms prohibit for one account. Legitimate parties, trading, gifting, and other supported cooperation remain allowed within the rules.
If you encounter a bug that grants unintended rewards or access, stop exploiting it and report the relevant facts privately. Do not repeat it for gain, move the proceeds through other accounts, or publish instructions that enable abuse. Good-faith reporting does not authorize disruptive testing, access to another player's data, or destructive changes; obtain explicit permission before security testing beyond ordinary use.
8. Real-money trading, boosting, and account services
Real-money trading (RMT) is prohibited. Do not buy, sell, advertise, solicit, arrange, broker, or knowingly facilitate the exchange of Edrath accounts, characters, names, Gold, items, resources, rewards, or progression for value outside the game. This includes money, cryptocurrency, gift cards, goods, services, and currency or items from another game.
The ban includes paid boosting, leveling, resource farming, carries, quest or dungeon completion, and ranked progression in exchange for real-world value. It applies whether the customer controls their own character or another person logs in to play for them, often called piloting. Account sharing and piloting are prohibited even when offered free or in exchange for Edrath Gold.
Calling a payment a donation, tip, subscription, membership, gift, sponsorship, or part of a bundle does not make a prohibited exchange acceptable. Do not conceal payment through another person, an outside marketplace, a guild bank, a deliberately distorted trade, or a later transaction. Advertising a prohibited service or directing players to a broker is itself a violation even if the payment occurs elsewhere.
Ordinary parties, guild help, gifts, crafting, and trades using legitimately obtained in-game resources are allowed through supported systems. This includes carries paid only in Edrath Gold while each player controls their own account. There must be no linked real-world payment, account sharing, win trading, exploit, or other prohibited arrangement. Only purchases expressly offered through Edrath's own official purchase flow are authorized real-money purchases; they do not permit resale, cashing out, or third-party boosting.
9. Player content and communications
You remain responsible for messages, names, guild text, feedback, and other content you submit. Submit only material you created or are authorized to use, and do not violate another person's copyright, privacy, confidentiality, or other rights. Do not upload unlawful material or disguise prohibited content with images, links, coded language, or another player's account.
You keep any rights you have in your own content. By submitting it to a supported feature, you give us a non-exclusive permission to store, reproduce, format, display, and transmit it as needed to operate that feature, maintain the service, and address safety, security, or legal issues. This does not transfer ownership of your work or give other players permission to misuse your personal information.
Visibility depends on the feature: public text can be read by its audience, while messages or mail are delivered to their intended recipients. Recipients may retain or copy what they receive. Content may be removed or restricted when it violates these terms or a legal obligation; do not assume every submission will be reviewed before it becomes visible. Reporting, moderation, and deletion can involve retention of relevant records as explained in the privacy and account-closure sections.
10. Permission to use Edrath and third-party services
We give eligible players a personal, limited, non-exclusive permission to access and play Edrath through supported interfaces while complying with these terms. Rights in Edrath's original software, artwork, writing, names, and other assets remain with their respective owners. Playing the game does not transfer those rights to you or authorize you to sell access, impersonate the operator, or redistribute service credentials.
Do not copy, redistribute, or use protected game assets commercially without permission or another lawful basis. Nothing here prohibits uses, accessibility rights, interoperability, or other exceptions that applicable law protects. A link to an outside site, community, marketplace, or tool is not an endorsement or a promise about its security. Independent services have their own rules; they cannot authorize conduct prohibited in Edrath.
11. Gold, items, progression, and the persistent world
Gold, items, characters, and progression are features of the service, not money, investments, deposits, or a right to payment. Except for rights that applicable law preserves, they cannot be redeemed for real-world value or traded outside authorized game systems. An inventory entry or tradeable item does not create a right to sell an account or demand a cash equivalent.
Edrath is designed as a persistent world without seasonal resets. We may still adjust balance, content, rewards, availability, and technical systems, correct errors, and reverse improperly obtained gains. We may investigate and restrict suspicious transfers, including attempts to hide stolen or duplicated resources. A later recipient is not automatically entitled to retain exploit proceeds simply because a transfer succeeded.
Use the supported trade and purchase confirmations carefully. We do not promise to reverse every voluntary trade, restore every lost item, or enforce informal agreements between players. This does not remove any remedy required for a service failure or any mandatory consumer rights. Report suspected theft, scams, or incorrect transactions with the relevant game details and without exposing sensitive account information.
12. Purchases, payment authorization, and refunds
These terms do not themselves offer a paid product, subscription, or feature. If Edrath makes an official purchase available, its description, price, currency, and applicable payment conditions must be shown before you confirm. Any recurring payment must disclose its renewal and cancellation conditions. Do not infer that a feature will be sold or remain available from this section alone.
Use only a payment method you are authorized to use. A minor must obtain any permission required from their parent or guardian and the payment-method owner; permission to play is not permission to spend. Do not submit stolen payment information, commit payment fraud, or use purchases to disguise prohibited RMT. Never exchange full card details or authentication codes with another player.
Any applicable refund, withdrawal, cancellation, or statutory remedy must be handled under the terms presented for that purchase and applicable law. No blanket no-refund rule or waiver of mandatory rights is created here. Raising a legitimate payment dispute or exercising a consumer right is not itself a violation; fraudulent disputes, false evidence, and knowingly keeping improperly obtained benefits may be investigated.
Before a paid offering launches, its checkout must explain the seller, total price including applicable taxes and fees, what is supplied, delivery, duration, technical requirements, and how to cancel or seek help. An exception to a statutory withdrawal right for immediately supplied digital content must meet the applicable conditions, including separate express consent and acknowledgment where required; accepting these general terms alone is not that waiver. A subscription must not be created through an undisclosed renewal or preselected extra.
13. Updates, maintenance, and availability
An online game requires maintenance and may experience outages, network failures, software errors, or security incidents. We may temporarily limit access or features to maintain the service, respond to abuse, or investigate a problem. We do not promise uninterrupted access, a fixed update schedule, or permanent availability of every feature.
Gameplay and balance may change over time. A balance adjustment does not itself authorize wiping legitimate progression or ignoring the persistent-world design. Technical recovery may require corrections to affected records; any action must respect applicable law and the terms that govern the service. Do not exploit an outage, reconnect, rollback, or recovery process for duplicate rewards.
If a feature or the service is discontinued, any notice, refund, data-access, or other obligation required by law still applies. Keeping your account mailbox accessible helps you receive important notices, but delivery is not guaranteed if the address is missing, incorrect, inaccessible, or rejects mail.
14. Account data, privacy, and retention
Running Edrath involves account details, authentication records, character and progression data, transactions, supported communications, reports, and technical records. Public game profiles and communications expose information to their intended audiences. Service records may be used to operate and secure the game, resolve account and gameplay problems, investigate reports, and meet legal obligations; sensitive information should never be added to public fields for convenience.
Accepting these terms is not blanket consent to unrelated marketing, selling personal information, or collecting whatever data the operator wishes. These behavior rules do not replace the separate privacy information, lawful basis, notices, choices, or permissions required by applicable data-protection law. Any right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or challenge handling of your data remains subject to that law.
Some communications and reports may be stored and reviewed when needed for the service or an investigation. Account deletion does not necessarily remove copies kept by other players, references they wrote in their own content, necessary moderation or audit records, or every backup immediately. Do not promise someone else that sending a message privately or deleting your account will erase every copy of what you shared.
15. Reports, moderation, and review of decisions
While you have access, use the in-game player-report and feedback tools to raise conduct, account, safety, or gameplay concerns privately. Give an accurate description and relevant game details such as the player, approximate time, and affected feature. Include only the minimum personal information necessary; do not submit credentials, payment secrets, identity documents, or unrelated sensitive conversations.
Do not fabricate evidence, knowingly submit false accusations, abuse the reporting system, threaten reporters, or retaliate against someone for a good-faith report. Reports are not a public vote on whether to punish a player. A report may require investigation, and we cannot promise a response deadline, a particular sanction, or disclosure of another person's private account or moderation information.
Depending on seriousness, repetition, intent, harm, and available evidence, we may warn a player, remove or rename content, restrict communication or features, reverse improperly obtained gains, suspend access, or close an account. Serious abuse, exploitation, fraud, security threats, or legal requirements may justify immediate action without a prior warning. An automated result or a completed transaction is not conclusive proof that conduct was allowed.
We consider relevant context and good-faith requests to review a decision. A review request should identify the affected account or decision and explain the suspected mistake without harassment or sensitive public disclosures. Email support@mistbyte.se, including if you cannot sign in, or use an available private reporting channel while you have access; do not evade a restriction to pursue a dispute. Nothing in this process removes a right to use a regulator, statutory complaint process, or court that applicable law gives you.
16. Leaving the service and account deletion
You may stop playing at any time. When you can access account settings, you can request account deletion through the supported deletion flow. Read its confirmation carefully: it explains the cooling-off period, cancellation options, and the effect on characters, inventory, progress, and associated data. Logging out or uninstalling the launcher or game client is not a deletion request.
Deletion and suspension are different. Some data may need to be retained or anonymized for legitimate security, dispute, legal, moderation, or operational purposes. Shared content and other players' copies may outlive your account. Any required privacy information and data-protection rights continue to apply; we do not promise instantaneous removal from every system or from the wider internet.
Leaving the game does not turn virtual resources into cash or automatically settle every pending transaction or dispute. Obligations and rights that by their nature continue after closure, such as lawful handling of retained data, intellectual-property rights, valid payment disputes, and mandatory consumer protections, remain relevant only to the extent applicable law permits.
17. Changes to these terms and account notices
Each revision has a version, effective date, and summary. We may revise these terms or the accompanying privacy and storage notice to address changes to the service, safety risks, legal requirements, or unclear wording. Whenever we publish changed terms or privacy wording, we will send an account service email to existing account holders using the address registered on their account, with a summary and links to that revision. These are service notices, separate from marketing preferences.
Published versions remain available from this page. Keep your email accessible and review notices. We cannot deliver mail to an account that has no address or to a mailbox that rejects the message; an in-game prompt to add an address does not mean an email has already been delivered. A delivery attempt is not evidence that you read a notice.
Receiving an email is not acceptance of a revised agreement, and we do not silently overwrite the version you accepted at signup. Where law or the nature of a change requires additional notice or affirmative consent, that must be provided or obtained before relying on the change. If you do not agree, you may stop using the service and request deletion without surrendering any legal rights or valid remedies.
18. Legal rights and interpretation
Use the service lawfully. Nothing in these terms excludes a liability, guarantee, remedy, or consumer protection that cannot lawfully be excluded, or prevents a protected disclosure to an authority. Statements about risks, moderation, virtual resources, or availability are subject to those limits. This agreement does not impose a mandatory arbitration clause, a class-action waiver, or a requirement to bring a claim in a foreign court.
If a provision cannot lawfully be enforced in your circumstances, it applies only to the extent permitted and does not automatically invalidate unrelated provisions. Our not acting immediately on one incident is not permission to repeat it or a general waiver of the rule. Examples illustrate the rules; disguising materially equivalent conduct does not create a loophole.
The agreement and any notices must be interpreted with the applicable law and the actual circumstances. A feature, process, or restriction described as conditional does not promise that it exists in every region or account. If a question affects your legal rights, seek advice appropriate to your situation rather than relying on another player's interpretation of these terms.
19. Responsibility, losses, and consumer remedies
We are responsible for providing the service with the care and protections required by applicable law. You remain responsible for your own unlawful acts and intentional rule violations. We do not make you responsible for every action of another player or require you to indemnify the operator for every claim merely because you have an account.
Internet access, devices, independent websites, and other players' conduct can create risks outside our control. Describing those risks does not excuse a failure to meet our own legal obligations. We do not exclude liability for fraud, deliberate misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other matter where exclusion is prohibited, and we do not impose an arbitrary monetary cap on a consumer's mandatory remedies.
A dispute about an outage, lost progress, a purchase, or moderation should identify what happened and the remedy requested. Preserve relevant records and take reasonable steps to limit avoidable loss. A report or internal review does not suspend a statutory deadline unless applicable law provides otherwise or the parties validly agree. You retain access to any competent court, regulator, or statutory dispute-resolution procedure available to you.
20. Illegal content, intellectual-property complaints, and appeals
A content complaint should identify the particular message, profile, name, or other material, its game location or link, the approximate time if relevant, and why you believe it violates the law or these rules. A rights holder or authorized representative should explain the right claimed and provide enough information to locate the material and assess the claim. Do not send illegal imagery or unrelated personal information when a description or identifier will suffice.
Email support@mistbyte.se for legal or content notices, intellectual-property complaints, privacy requests, or an appeal of a restriction. This contact is available to people without an account, guardians, and people who cannot sign in. You may also use the private in-game reporting tools while you have access. Creating another account to evade a restriction is not an appeal procedure.
We should assess specific notices on their merits, consider relevant counter-evidence, and explain restrictions and available review routes when required by law, subject to lawful confidentiality or safety limits. Applicable notice-and-action, statement-of-reasons, complaint, and regulatory obligations take precedence over general moderation language. This section does not claim registration with a copyright safe-harbor program or promise eligibility for one.
21. Community projects, promotions, and changes of operator
Fan communities, guides, streams, and videos must respect other players' privacy, applicable intellectual-property rights, and these conduct rules. Do not present an unofficial project as an official Edrath service or suggest staff endorsement without permission. These terms do not grant a general commercial asset license. Any contest, giveaway, referral offer, or promotion run by the operator needs its own clear eligibility and participation conditions where appropriate; another player's offer is not an operator guarantee.
Do not organize wagering or gambling with accounts, items, Gold, progression, or real-world value through Edrath. Do not use the service for money laundering, prohibited sales, deceptive promotions, or unlawful fundraising. Ordinary game rewards and supported trades do not authorize a separate gambling or investment scheme.
An operator change or business transfer does not automatically remove existing contractual or privacy duties. Any transfer of the service or necessary records must have a lawful basis and any required notice, safeguards, and user rights. We cannot promise that accepting this agreement permits unrestricted onward sale of personal information. Any additional feature-specific conditions must be clearly presented before they apply and cannot silently remove mandatory rights.
